Boston meets Anna Maria Island

We have so many people from so many places all over the world come to visit our island and I have shot many of their weddings. This one was different and special. Kristen McCormack and Michael Taubenberger came to Anna Maria after 10 years of courting and tied the knot. They brought their family, tons of friends from Boston and people from all over the world. i have never heard a crowd cheer louder or clap harder when the beautiful bride appeared and flowed down the isle. There was so much love and friendship in the air it was incredible.

EVERYONE was having a ball. Between pictures, I got a chance to chat with several of the guests and it was an overall conceses that both the bride and groom are people who are not only in love, but love the world as well. They have spent their entire lives helping others to take care of themselves and do better for the people in our world who are less fortunate. It was a so apparent that everyone there had a deep respect for the couple and their admiration for them flowed through the air. It seemed to me that I was amongst greatness. It was an honor and a true pleasure to share that day and be a part of two amazing people join their lives and families together. Congrats to Michael and Kristen Taubenberger! I wish you well and hope you have great success on all of your worldly missions.

Returning to Anna Maria Island

I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t love our little island off the West Coast of Florida. We get all sorts of people and families who visit our little slice of heaven. Most that I meet are here for the first time, but I also meet a slew of people who have been coming back to vacation for years and years. Yesterday I met a family who used to live here in paradise and moved way up North to Wisconsin. They love it here, miss it here and decided to take a piece of their beach home with them this trip.

Be it not the real thing, pictures are truly worth a 1,ooo words and not to mention a 1,000 memories for this great family. We headed up to Gulf Drive and Sycamore (one of my favorite spots for beach portraits) and recorded the trip.

Flowers for your Wedding on Anna Maria Island

What bride doesn’t dream of having her big day on a beautiful beach? Well, maybe not everyone, but there are lots! I think it’s the fact that the beach creates such an amazing scene for a meaning ful ceremony. Not to mention the fact that the newlyweds have the opportunity to take beautiful pictures at sunset to capture their joy and happiness. There are so many different opportunites to snap an image to create a memory loaded with one of natures amazing back drops.

There are so many little things you can do to add to this beautiful setting. Of course, a beautiful dress, the perfect jewelery, your hair looking perfect……these are obvious, but I firmly believe that having the right flowers may top the list. With all of the choices, all the styles and all the colors of beautiful flowers, choosing the right ones for you is imortant. Chose colors that compliment your color palate for the day and most importantly, choose flowers that give your wedding day a stamp of youru style. I know when i look at flowers, some of them don’t do a thing for me and others screme my name. Some brides stay with subtle arrangements and others go to the loud end.

Whatever suits you and makes your heart smile is the way to go. I don’t thinkg there are any color combinations or styles that can go wrong. Especailly on the beach. Nature supplies you with a nuetral, beautiful canvas to be as creative as you want with your flowers. I guess the point of this entire blog is to let you know that having flowers for your day make you and everyone else smile. Not to mention, your pictures will be that much better. Spend a day in the fields of flowers!

Wedding Night is opening night

They knew their roles and knew their lines. The set was made and the tickets were sold out. Zanna and Dan were married and the critics loved it. They said their vows on the sugary sand behind the Sand Bar Pavillion. All weddings are beautiful, because they are a day of union between two people who love eachother, but this particular wedding was above and beyond. The beautiful bride put a touch of flair into every detail. It was truly her own. From the center pieces to the favors. Everythingn looked enchanting.

The ceremony was beautiful and flawless. The flowers were done locally by The Flower Girls of Sarasota, Reverend Charlie Shook did the honors and the party was roaring. Everyone had a great time. The drinks were flowing the the dancing shoes were on. It was wonderful to see Dan and Zanna so happy and so in love. They are such a great couple and I wish them all the very best. I’m sure they are set for the ride of their lives together. It was an honor to help them capture the day.

Pictures in the Dunes of Anna Maria

The weather is FINALLY cooperating on Anna Maria. The sun is back and the gulf of Mexico is warming up. We took pictures of Larry and his family and had a blast. All 3 of the kids were full of energy and having so much fun. It’s great to watch kids on the beach. This was their first time to Anna Maria and they loved it. So glad i got to help them record their trip.

They picked a great spot. The North end of Anna Maria Island, up in the dunes where the sand is creamy white and sugar soft. We took shots in the Dunes, we took shots in the sand and of course, by the water.

They had a great time throughout their vacation. They stayed at the Main Sail in Holmes Beach, FL. It’s a beautiful little resort directly on the beach just next to the great reastaurant The Beach Bistro. How could you go wrong with a view like that and food that yummy. I hope to see them again.
